# Civitascope Render

> **Status: early development.** This release only reserves the package name. There is no usable functionality yet.

Civitascope turns open [Eurostat](https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat) data into verifiable, sourced infographics. **This package is the renderer**: it takes the figures computed and checked by [civitascope-data](https://github.com/civitascope/civitascope-data) and draws the infographic from them. The website that shows the results is [civitascope-web](https://github.com/civitascope/civitascope-web).

## Planned

- Chart descriptions for the website's interactive charts (rankings, tile maps, then-vs-now, stacked shares)
- Regional and country maps rendered as SVG
- Social media preview images

## Core principle

**The renderer never changes a number.** It only draws the figures it receives, each with its source.
