# cascadeaihub

Create a new [cascadeaihub](https://www.cascadeaihub.com)/`dev_kit`-generated
frontend project with your own API key -- no local `dev_kit` install, git
personal access token, or registry checkout required.

This package delivers the frameworks that are built with Python tooling.
Frameworks built with Node tooling are delivered by `create-cascadeaihub-app`
on npm instead; if you ask this tool for one of those, it stops and says so
before creating anything.

## Usage

```bash
pip install cascadeaihub
cascadeaihub create-app my-app --framework jinja --api-key <your-api-key> --modules core,notes
```

The cascadeaihub build page shows the exact command for the framework you
chose, with your key filled in. Run `cascadeaihub create-app --help` for the
full option list.

## What it does

1. Asks cascadeaihub for your project: the generated files, plus how your
   framework is set up.
2. Writes the generated files into the (empty) target directory. That
   includes a `requirements.txt` listing exactly the packages your framework
   and modules declare.
3. Installs dependencies from it (skip with `--skip-install`).
4. Tells you the command to run next.

Nothing about any one framework is built into this tool. Every step is
carried out from what the API returns, so a newly supported framework works
without a new release of this package.

The generated project is self-contained: it does not need `dev_kit` itself
installed in order to run.

## Requirements

Python 3.10 or newer. The target directory must not exist yet, or must be
empty.
