# launchpad

Release management for [uv](https://docs.astral.sh/uv/) Python workspaces.
Contributors record each change as a small news fragment, and a release turns
whatever is pending into semantic version bumps, changelogs, per-member Git
tags, and one commit.

This package delivers the prebuilt `launchpad` command for your platform. It
needs no Go toolchain, and no Python beyond what uv already manages.

## Install

```bash
uv tool install launchpad-uv
```

launchpad needs Git 2.25 or newer and uv 0.8.0 or newer on your PATH. Wheels
are published for macOS, Linux (glibc and musl), and Windows, on x86-64 and
ARM64. Windows support is experimental.

## Try it in a throwaway repository

```bash
mkdir launchpad-try && cd launchpad-try && git init
launchpad init --create package --ci none --yes
git add -A && git commit -m "start"
launchpad fragment feature -m "First feature"
launchpad release --dry-run
launchpad release --no-push
```

`--dry-run` shows the version bump, changelog, and tags without changing
anything. `--no-push` releases locally: one commit and one tag, sent nowhere.

## License

launchpad is proprietary software. The Launchpad Proprietary Evaluation
License, included in this package, permits internal, non-production evaluation
only. Production, commercial, modification, redistribution, and
service-provider use require prior written permission. Third-party components
remain under their own licenses, reproduced in the package's
`THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES`.
