## Migration Guide (v2.0.0)

**Note:** The camelCase changes described below **only apply to BRC-100 related modules** (authentication, wallet wire protocol, etc.). These changes affect **JSON wire formats** for cross-SDK interoperability with TypeScript SDK and Go SDK. Python class attributes and method parameters remain in snake_case per PEP 8 conventions.

**Breaking Changes:** Version 2.0.0 introduces changes to standardize on camelCase JSON schemas and stricter AuthMessage validation for BRC-100 compliance.

### Key Changes

1. **AuthMessage JSON Wire Format Changes:**
   - `payload` and `signature` fields now **only accept `number[] | null`** (arrays of integers 0-255)
   - Previously accepted string formats (hex, base64, UTF-8) are no longer supported
   - **Migration:** Convert string payloads/signatures to byte arrays, then to integer arrays

2. **camelCase Only for SDK-Owned JSON Schemas:**
   - All AuthMessage JSON keys: `identityKey`, `messageType`, `initialNonce`, `yourNonce`, `requestedCertificates`
   - Certificate fields: `serialNumber`, `revocationOutpoint`
   - Wallet API args: `protocolID`, `keyID`, `seekPermission`, `forSelf`
   - **Migration:** Replace snake_case keys with camelCase equivalents

## Objective

The BSV Blockchain Libraries Project aims to structure and maintain a middleware layer of the BSV Blockchain technology stack. By facilitating the development and maintenance of core libraries, it serves as an essential toolkit for developers looking to build on the BSV Blockchain.

## Getting Started

### Requirements

Python 3.9 or higher
pip package manager

### Installation

```bash
pip install bsv-sdk
```

### Development Setup

For contributors and developers, install with test dependencies:

pip install -e .[test]
```

This installs the package in development mode along with all testing dependencies including pytest-cov for code coverage analysis.
