# Dataset Holder (dataset_holder)

A lightweight, zero-dependency central dataset registry, performance diagnostics tool, and terminal-based system utility for Python.

`dataset_holder` acts as an invisible historical vault for your project files, lists, dictionaries, and DataFrames. It automatically handles background serialization into a local SQLite database, tracks file size load, and features built-in tools like a 2FA token generator to bypass device restrictions while developing.

## Key Features

- **Automatic SQLite History Persistence:** Datasets are instantly stored safely into a long-term local database file.
- **Automated Directory Scanner & Batch Loader:** Programmatically sweep and ingest an entire directory of discovered datasets into memory at once.
- **Zero-Dependency Leaderboard Monitoring:** Find and rank your largest files instantly right in the native Command Prompt or PowerShell.
- **Computer Performance Diagnostics & Compression:** Automatically scan your database registry for "troublemaker" datasets and compress them behind a master password.
- **Built-In 2FA Authenticator:** Generate live, 6-digit verification security tokens directly inside your console terminal without needing a phone or browser extensions.
- **Live Version Checker:** Automatically scans PyPI in the background upon initialization to alert you with a clean notification if a newer library version is available (exactly like `pip`).

## Installation

```bash
pip install dataset_holder
```

## Quick Start Guide

### 1. Generate Live 2FA Security Tokens
Bypass phone restrictions while deploying or logging into secured development sites:
```python
from dataset_holder import DatasetHolder
holder = DatasetHolder()
# Paste your site secret base32 key string here
holder.generate_2fa_code("YOUR_SECRET_BASE32_KEY")
```

### 2. Run Performance Diagnostics & Password Compression
```python
from dataset_holder import DatasetHolder
holder = DatasetHolder()
# Seed a massive file to test the optimizer
holder.add("huge_laggy_file", "heavy data matrix text string sequence " * 5000)
# Scan for troublemakers crossing a 10 KB threshold and lock them up!
holder.optimize_system_load(size_threshold_kb=10.0)
```

### 3. Retrieve Password-Protected Datasets
```python
from dataset_holder import DatasetHolder
holder = DatasetHolder()
# Accessing a compressed file requires passing the secret key gate
safe_data = holder.get("huge_laggy_file", access_password="your_master_password")
```

### 4. View Storage Rankings Leaderboard
```python
from dataset_holder import DatasetHolder
holder = DatasetHolder()
holder.get_highest_dataset()
```
