Snapshot is marked blocked

Choose Verify and read the first failed manifest check. A changed hash, missing member, unsafe path, unreadable database, wrong data-layout version, or newer migration revision prevents rehearsal and retention deletion.

Confirmation is refused

Enter REHEARSE RESTORE exactly. The phrase authorises only a disposable rehearsal; there is no live-restore browser route.

Rehearsal fails

Keep the snapshot. Failed or unverified snapshots are never removed by automatic retention. Check available disk space, database compatibility, and the named recording blob before making another copy.

Where snapshots live

CW_BACKUP_ROOT selects the destination. By default it is a sibling named <data-root>-backups, separating recovery copies from the live data tree they protect.
