# AhpAnpLibCDF

**AhpAnpLibCDF** is a Python library for modeling and analyzing decision
problems using the **Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)** and **Analytic
Network Process (ANP)**.

It provides tools for defining decision structures, entering pairwise
comparisons, calculating priorities and inconsistency, constructing ANP
supermatrices, and obtaining final priorities.

This distribution continues the AhpAnpLib codebase under the PyPI
distribution name `ahpanplibcdf`.

## Installation

``` bash
pip install ahpanplibcdf
```

The PyPI distribution is named `ahpanplibcdf`, while the Python package
remains `AhpAnpLib`. Existing AhpAnpLib imports can therefore continue
to be used:

``` python
from AhpAnpLib import structs_AHPLib as ahp_struct
from AhpAnpLib import inputs_AHPLib as ahp_input
from AhpAnpLib import calcs_AHPLib as ahp_calc
```

## Features

- Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) models
- Analytic Network Process (ANP) models
-   Pairwise-comparison judgments
-   Priority-vector and inconsistency calculations
-   Incomplete pairwise comparisons
-   Network and cluster structures
- ANP supermatrix construction and calculations
-   Ratings models
-   Sensitivity analysis
- Excel-based input and output utilities
-   Decision-model visualization utilities

## Basic Workflow

A typical analysis consists of:

1. Define the decision model and its nodes or clusters.
2. Define the relationships or influence links in the model.
3. Provide the required pairwise comparisons or ratings.
4.  Calculate local priorities.
5. For ANP models, construct and process the supermatrix.
6. Obtain and interpret the resulting priorities.

The library separates the **structure of the decision model** from the
**judgments and calculations**, allowing AHP and ANP models to be
represented programmatically rather than requiring users to manually
assemble every matrix.

## Pairwise Comparisons

AHP and ANP use pairwise comparisons to express the relative importance
or influence of decision elements.

A reciprocal pairwise-comparison matrix has the general form:

``` text
        A      B      C
A       1      a      b
B      1/a     1      c
C      1/b    1/c     1
```

AhpAnpLibCDF calculates the corresponding priority vectors and provides
inconsistency measures for evaluating the coherence of the judgments.

## ANP Supermatrices

For network models, the library uses the relationships defined between
nodes and clusters to organize local priority vectors into the ANP
supermatrix structure.

This allows the model structure to determine which comparisons are
required and where the resulting priorities belong in the supermatrix,
rather than requiring users to construct the complete supermatrix
manually.

## Requirements

The library uses common scientific Python packages including NumPy,
pandas, NetworkX, OpenPyXL, Matplotlib, Graphviz, and related utilities.

See `requirements.txt` for the dependency list associated with the
distribution.

## Python Compatibility

Version 2.7.0 removes an obsolete standard-library import that caused
AhpAnpLib to fail during import under Python 3.13.

## Distribution and Import Names

``` text
PyPI distribution:  ahpanplibcdf
Python package:      AhpAnpLib
```

Install with `pip install ahpanplibcdf`, but import from `AhpAnpLib`.

## License and Attribution

AhpAnpLibCDF is based on the AhpAnpLib project and is maintained as a
distribution of that codebase for AHP and ANP decision modeling.
