Free net worth tracker spreadsheet

Every category that counts in India down the side, twelve quarters across the top, and the totals, net worth and chart already wired up. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers. No email, no sign-up, no watermark.

What's in it

How to use it

  1. Set the first date in cell B4. Every other column follows it.
  2. Fill in what each category is worth today — not what you paid.
  3. Leave anything that doesn't apply blank.
  4. Come back once a quarter and fill the next column. The chart draws itself.
{# The argument for not using a spreadsheet is far more persuasive from someone who just gave you a good one. Overstating the case here would be both dishonest and less effective — a spreadsheet is genuinely fine for a while. #}

Where a spreadsheet stops working

Honestly: for a year or two, it doesn't stop. A spreadsheet is free, it's yours, it works offline, and nobody can shut it down. If that's what you want, take the file above and ignore the rest of this page.

What eventually goes wrong is always the same three things:

Networthy HQ is the same table with the lookups automated: import an NSDL CAS and your demat and mutual-fund holdings appear priced live; add property, gold, PPF and loans once. It's free, and you can export everything back to CSV whenever you want — including into this spreadsheet.

Or skip the quarterly hour.

Same categories, same number — without the hunting. Import a statement and it prices itself.

Also useful: work out your net worth right now, where it ranks, and how much you need to retire.

{{ fine_print("The spreadsheet does arithmetic on figures you supply — it can't check whether a property or unlisted holding is really worth what you've entered.") }} {% endblock %}
