Pelorus Voyages permits travel for passengers who are pregnant at the time of departure, subject to a gestational age limit. Passengers who will be 12 weeks or more into their pregnancy on the departure date are not permitted to travel on any Pelorus Voyages itinerary. The 12-week limit is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period as documented in the medical clearance; it is not a rough estimate and the physician's clearance letter must state the gestational age explicitly and confirm it will be less than 12 weeks on the departure date.

The 12-week limit is an absolute cutoff and is not negotiable regardless of the passenger's health, the nature of the pregnancy, or any other circumstances. No waiver or physician letter of special clearance can override this limit. This policy exists because the medical infrastructure aboard the vessel and at all destinations is not equipped to manage obstetric emergencies beyond very early pregnancy, and because the radiation environment in deep space, while managed for typical passengers, is not established as safe for fetal development at any gestational stage with current research.

Passengers who are pregnant at the time of booking but will be within the 12-week limit on the departure date should declare their pregnancy in the medical section of their account portal and ensure their physician addresses it explicitly in the clearance letter. If the pregnancy is not yet confirmed at the time of booking, the passenger should note any uncertainty on the clearance form and update it if a pregnancy is subsequently confirmed.

If a passenger's pregnancy advances beyond 12 weeks before the departure date due to a change in the gestational assessment — for example, an ultrasound revising the age upward — this constitutes a medical disqualification under the standard medical disqualification refund policy. The passenger is entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid if the revised gestational age places the departure date at or beyond 12 weeks. The passenger must not process a standard cancellation; contact bookings support to initiate the medical disqualification claim.

For passengers who are not yet pregnant at the time of booking but become pregnant before departure, the same rules apply. If the pregnancy will be at 12 weeks or beyond on the departure date, the booking must be cancelled. The cancellation will be treated under the standard cancellation fee schedule unless medical disqualification applies — medical disqualification in this context requires documentation that the pregnancy itself, not the passenger's choice, prevents travel.
