All passengers travelling on any Pelorus Voyages itinerary are required to obtain a medical clearance from a licensed physician before departure. The clearance certifies that the passenger is physically fit for spaceflight, including the launch acceleration profile, sustained microgravity exposure, and the environmental conditions of each stop on their specific itinerary. A clearance obtained for an Inner Planets Survey itinerary does not automatically cover the additional requirements of the Outer Reaches Tour or Grand Solar Tour; passengers changing itineraries after clearance is issued should confirm with their physician that the clearance scope matches their new itinerary.

Medical clearance is valid for 90 calendar days from the date of the physician's sign-off. The departure date must fall within this 90-day validity window. Passengers whose clearance will expire before their departure date — or who have any doubt about the expiry calculation — must obtain a renewal before travel. The validity window is 90 calendar days, not three months; February departures following a November clearance may fall outside 90 days even if they feel like "three months" by casual reckoning.

In addition to the physician-issued clearance, all passengers must complete a pre-departure health check within 72 hours of the launch window opening. This check is conducted by Pelorus Voyages medical staff at the Earth launch terminal and takes approximately 20 minutes. The check result is transmitted directly to the vessel's medical officer. Passengers who do not complete the pre-departure health check are not permitted to board, regardless of whether their physician clearance is current. The pre-departure health check cannot be completed remotely or in advance of the 72-hour window.

If a physician withdraws a passenger's medical clearance after a booking has been made — whether due to a new diagnosis, a change in the passenger's condition, or the physician's updated assessment — the passenger is entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid, including any non-refundable deposit. This applies regardless of how close to the departure date the withdrawal occurs, provided the documented withdrawal is submitted to Pelorus Voyages before the departure window opens. Passengers in this situation should not process a standard cancellation; they should contact bookings support and request the medical disqualification refund process.

Certain medical conditions require additional clearance documentation or are disqualifying for spaceflight. A full list of conditions is provided in the disqualifying conditions document. Passengers with managed conditions not on the disqualifying list — such as controlled hypertension, well-managed diabetes, or prior cardiac history — should discuss their specific situation with their physician and ensure the clearance letter addresses those conditions explicitly.
