All Pelorus Voyages passengers must complete the pre-voyage training programme before departure. The programme is delivered online through the Pelorus Voyages account portal and must be finished at least 14 days before the departure window opens. The programme cannot be completed after departure has commenced; passengers who have not finished the training by the departure date will not be permitted to board.

The training programme consists of five modules. The first module, Spaceflight Fundamentals, covers the physical environment of low-gravity travel, what to expect during acceleration and deceleration phases, and the physiological changes passengers should anticipate in the first 48 to 72 hours after departure. This module takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. The second module, EVA Suit Basics, introduces the suits used at surface stops, the buddy-check procedure, and the emergency protocols for pressure loss. This module takes approximately 90 minutes and includes an interactive suit-check simulation. The third module, Destination Briefings, provides an overview of each destination on the booked itinerary — surface conditions, heritage rules, excursion overviews, and what to expect on arrival. This module's length varies by itinerary: approximately two hours for IPS, three hours for ORT, four hours for GST. The fourth module, Emergency Procedures, covers vessel emergency protocols, muster station locations, emergency suit donning, and communication procedures during an incident. This module takes approximately 60 minutes and includes a mandatory assessment; passengers must score 80 percent or above to pass. The fifth module, Health and Wellness in Space, covers nutrition, hydration, exercise recommendations, managing vestibular symptoms, and when to contact the medical officer. This module takes approximately 45 minutes.

The Olympus Fitness Test, required for Pathfinder passengers doing the Caldera Rim hike, is not part of the pre-voyage training programme. It is a physical fitness assessment conducted in person at Mars Colony 1 at least 48 hours before the Caldera Rim excursion. The pre-voyage training programme prepares passengers for the test conceptually but does not substitute for it. Separately, the Titan cold-suit certification is conducted in person at Moon Base 7 and is not part of the online programme.

Passengers who do not pass the Emergency Procedures assessment may retake it up to three times. If a passing score is not achieved after three attempts, the passenger must contact Pelorus Voyages support to arrange a supervised retake session. This rarely occurs but is the passenger's responsibility to resolve before the 14-day pre-departure deadline.
