The Aphrodite's pool deck and sun deck are the most unexpected amenity in the solar system. At 52 kilometres above the Venusian surface, inside a station drifting at 300 kilometres per hour with the atmosphere's superrotating winds, there is a full-depth swimming pool, a floating bar, and aqua volleyball courts operating at 0.88g — close enough to Earth gravity that water behaves exactly as expected and a ball thrown in the air comes down where you expect it to land.

The pool is 25 metres in length and 2 metres deep, maintained at standard tropical resort temperature. Pool access is open to all cabin classes with no schedule restriction for Navigator and Pathfinder passengers; Pioneer class passengers access the pool on a shared schedule with reserved morning and afternoon blocks. Towels are included for Navigator and Pathfinder passengers. Pioneer passengers may rent towels at the pool desk.

The aqua volleyball court occupies the shallow end of the pool. Games run on a booking system; drop-in play is available when courts are unbooked. Equipment is provided. The rules follow standard aqua volleyball with one notable modification: the low-thrust gravity makes aerial balls slightly slower in descent than on Earth, which extends rally duration. Most passengers find this a pleasant difference rather than a jarring one.

The sun deck wraps the exterior of the pool level. It is an open-air deck in the sense that the glass-and-composite ceiling is fully transparent; passengers are inside a pressurised, climate-controlled enclosure but experience direct sunlight without any roof obstruction. The UV management system filters incoming radiation to Earth-normal levels — approximately one-quarter of the actual solar intensity at Venus, which is 1.9 times Earth's at distance. The result is a sunbathing deck that feels like a warm Earth day without the risk of enhanced UV exposure. SPF 50+ sunscreen is provided; use is strongly recommended as the UV management system is set to Earth-normal, not zero.

The floating bar operates from 0800 to 0100. The signature cocktail is The Descent — a layered drink in deep red, amber, and pale gold, built to evoke the colour bands in the Venusian cloud deck below. It is made with ingredients chosen to complement the layered pour and is deliberately difficult to reproduce on Earth. The bar menu includes a full range of cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages; dietary-restriction alternatives are available on request. The bar is the same for all cabin classes.
