Titan is Saturn's largest moon and the only moon in the solar system with a dense atmosphere. Its surface is a landscape of hydrocarbon lakes, methane rivers, and plains of water-ice overlaid with organic sediment. The Titan Ice Flats excursion takes place on the frozen shoreline of Kraken Mare, the largest of Titan's methane seas, where the water-ice surface is compacted enough to support low-gravity surface sports. The excursion is available exclusively to Outer Reaches Tour and Grand Solar Tour passengers.

Surface gravity on Titan is approximately 0.14g — slightly less than the Moon. In combination with Titan's dense nitrogen atmosphere, which provides aerodynamic effects similar to Earth at lower speeds, movement on the surface feels heavy compared to Ceres but still dramatically low compared to Earth or Mars. Jumps are high; speed is achievable with minimal effort; falling is slow and rarely results in injury with proper suit technique. The ice flats sports available during the excursion include low-gravity ice skating on groomed track sections, sled racing on the downhill ice lanes, and long-jump competition from a designated launch zone.

Cold suit provision is mandatory and non-optional. Titan's surface temperature is approximately minus 179 degrees Celsius. Pelorus Voyages provides all cold suits and certifies their fit and seal at Excursion Base Alpha before any passenger is permitted on the surface. Personal cold-suit equipment is not permitted — the certification requirement cannot be met for non-Pelorus equipment on the day. Cold suits are included in the Titan excursion price. Open-face helmets are not permitted under any circumstances; all helmets must be sealed visored models with communications integration.

A cold-suit certification check is required at Moon Base 7 in addition to standard medical clearance, and a cardiovascular fitness assessment is conducted at the same time. Both must be completed before the vessel departs on the Outer Reaches Tour. Titan is the final major surface stop before Enceladus and the return transit; there is no opportunity to complete these certifications during the voyage. Passengers who have not completed the cold-suit certification and cardiovascular fitness check before departure from Moon Base 7 will not be permitted on the Titan surface, regardless of their standard medical clearance status.

The Titan check-in muster deadline is 75 minutes before the departure window. Mandatory cold-suit decontamination takes approximately 20 minutes and must be completed before entering Excursion Base Alpha for departure processing. Passengers should plan their surface activities to end no later than 95 minutes before the departure window to allow for decontamination, equipment return, and muster.
