Prescription and over-the-counter medications for personal use are not counted against the passenger's personal mass allowance. Medications carried in original pharmacy containers and supported by a current prescription or physician letter travel exempt from the weight limit. This exemption applies to the medications themselves; the case, cooling unit, or bag used to carry them counts toward the mass allowance.

Medications that require temperature-controlled storage — including certain biologics, insulin, and some liquid antibiotics — may be transported in a personal insulated medication case. The case contents (the medications) are mass-exempt; the case itself counts toward the allowance. Pelorus Voyages recommends cases that weigh no more than 1 kilogram when empty; the medical bay on the vessel can provide supplementary temperature-controlled storage for medications on a pre-arranged basis for passengers whose requirements exceed what a personal case provides. Contact accessibility support before departure to arrange this.

All medications must be declared on the passenger's medical section in the account portal before departure. The declaration does not need to include dosing details but should list each medication by name (brand and generic if known), the condition it treats, and whether it requires refrigeration or special storage. This information is provided to the vessel's flight surgeon before departure and is used to ensure the medical bay inventory is compatible with the passenger's treatment plan.

Controlled substances — scheduled medications requiring a prescription under the laws of the passenger's country of origin — must be accompanied by the original prescription and may additionally require documentation for transit through interplanetary waypoints. Requirements vary by waypoint authority; the Moon Base 7 and Ceres Waystation customs desks publish current controlled substance declaration requirements on their respective official information portals. Pelorus Voyages cannot advise on the specific requirements of third-party waypoint authorities; passengers with controlled substance prescriptions should research applicable requirements well before departure.

Passengers who require a medication that is on the vessel's prohibited list — including certain aerosol-propellant inhalers and specific injectable preparations — should contact Pelorus Voyages medical operations at least 60 days before departure to discuss alternatives or accommodations. In many cases a therapeutic equivalent that is compatible with vessel regulations exists and can be discussed with the passenger's physician.
