# diogenes

Diogenes agents from code, in Python, with the standard library only.

```sh
pip install diogenes
```

```python
import os
from diogenes import Diogenes
dio = Diogenes(api_key=os.environ["DIOGENES_KEY"])
agent = dio.agents.create(
    name="Market watcher",
    model="kimi-k2.6",
    instructions="Track ETH L2 news. Keep a weekly brief.",
    jars=[{"id": "jar_research", "access": "read"}],
    tools=["web", "onchain"],
    budget={"monthly_credits": 500, "run_credits": 20},
)
run = agent.run("What changed this week?")
print(run.text)
for part in agent.stream("And for Base?", conversation_id=run.conversation_id):
    print(part, end="", flush=True)
```

A personal key (Settings → API) manages your agents; an agent key (on the
agent's card) runs that agent only. Failures raise `DiogenesError` with
`status`, a stable `code` (`agent_budget_reached`, `agent_run_budget`,
`unauthorized`, …) and a message for people.
