This product is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or
(at your option) any later version (AGPL-3.0-or-later; see LICENSE).

This product adapts concepts, conventions, or optional integrations with the following
open-source scientific software and public datasets (each under its own license):

- Rasterio (BSD-3-Clause) and PyProj (MIT) for CRS-aware GeoTIFF/COG I/O and coordinate transformations.
- pystac-client (Apache-2.0) for STAC catalog querying.
- spyndex (MIT; Montero et al., 2023, https://github.com/awesome-spectral-indices/spyndex)
for standardized spectral index nomenclature and formula conventions.
- xdem (BSD-3-Clause; https://github.com/GlacioHack/xdem) and Nuth & Kääb (2011,
https://doi.org/10.5194/tc-5-271-2011) for DEM of Difference (DoD) co-registration
tilt/shift bias correction and volumetric uncertainty propagation concepts.
- forge3d (Apache-2.0 / MIT; https://pypi.org/project/forge3d/) for WebGPU/Rust 3D terrain rendering.
- pywbt / WhiteboxTools (MIT; Lindsay, 2016) and Horn (1981) for surface morphometry conventions.
- pyTopoComplexity (Lai, Booth, Duvall, & Herzig, 2025, Earth Surface Dynamics,
https://doi.org/10.5194/esurf-13-417-2025) for multiscale 2D continuous wavelet topographic
complexity concepts and optional adapter integration.
- Google DeepMind AlphaEarth Foundations (Brown et al., 2025; GOOGLE/SATELLITE_EMBEDDING/V1/ANNUAL,
CC-BY-4.0) for 64-dimensional unit-sphere satellite embedding change conventions.
- U.S. Geological Survey State Geologic Map Compilation (SGMC; Horton et al., 2017, USGS Data Series 1052,
U.S. Public Domain) and Wyoming State Geological Survey (Love & Christiansen, 1985) for public bedrock
geological map polygons over Sheep Mountain Anticline, WY.

Example data in example_data/ is derived from public-domain / open-access sources
(USGS 3DEP, USGS SGMC, ESA/Copernicus Sentinel-2 L2A & GLO-30 DEM via AWS Earth Search,
and AlphaEarth embedding representations); see example_data/SOURCES.txt for exact provenance and terms.

License compatibility: the third-party software above is under permissive licenses
(BSD-3-Clause, MIT, Apache-2.0); the Rust crates linked into the extension (PyO3,
rust-numpy, rayon) are Apache-2.0 / MIT. All are compatible with AGPLv3 and remain
under their own licenses. Example data keep their original terms (U.S. Public Domain,
Copernicus/Sentinel free and open data terms, CC-BY-4.0 attribution for AlphaEarth).

Network use (AGPL-3.0 section 13): if you modify pyGeoMapper and let other people
interact with it over a network (for example by serving its interactive 3D viewer or
any web app built on it to remote users), you must offer those users the
Corresponding Source of your modified version. Local use creates no such obligation.
