Spectral convolution (tetrapy)
------------------------------
Location: tetracorderp/convolve.py
Upstream: https://github.com/emit-sds/tetracorder-lite
           (tetrapy package, file tetracorder/conv/convolve.py)

Copyright: (c) 2026 California Institute of Technology ("Caltech").
           U.S. Government sponsorship acknowledged.
License: Apache License, Version 2.0; see licenses/LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.

This file has been modified from the original: handling of specpr deleted
points has been removed, as the reference data is sanitised before it reaches
the convolver. The modification is marked in the file header.

Tetracorder and specpr
----------------------
Relationship: this repository is an independent reimplementation in Python of
the Tetracorder expert system, and vendors modified Tetracorder command
           files as its rule source.
Upstream: https://github.com/PSI-edu/spectroscopy-tetracorder
Copyright: (c) 1975-2026 Roger N. Clark, Planetary Science Institute (PSI),
and colleagues named in the code.
License: GNU General Public License, version 3, plus the conditions in the
license.txt files throughout the upstream repository:
             - redistributions must keep the copyright notice, conditions and
               disclaimer;
             - the names of Roger N. Clark, PSI and contributors may not be
used to endorse or promote derived products without prior
               written permission;
             - translations or recodings into other languages must be made
               available, with source, for free.

This repository is such a recoding, and is distributed with source under
GPL-3.0 accordingly. Neither Roger N. Clark, PSI, Caltech, JPL nor NASA
endorse this work, and nothing here should be read as implying that they do.

Spectral libraries
------------------
Location: resources/ (reference spectra at native resolution with bandpasses, convolved to the sensor
           at run time)
Source: Derived from the USGS splib06 and the companion sprlb06 research
           library, as distributed with Tetracorder.
Reference: Clark, R.N., et al., 2007, USGS digital spectral library splib06a:

Post-processing lookups
-----------------------
Location: resources/postprocessing_lookups.json
Source: Derived from Tetracorder 6.00's material-classification.txt,
           geological-origin-table-by-material.txt, cmds.color.support colour
scripts and lists.of.files.by.mineral (GPL-3.0, as above).
The rule-to-material mapping was completed and extended for this
repository; those additions are judgement calls, not upstream's.
