pc_thinning_report — 3D resolution op

Data kinds: points × pointstable

Call: import fullseye as fs; fs.ledger.pc_thinning_report(points, thinned, k=8, radius=None) (to call the implementation directly, import meshres; meshres.pc_thinning_report(points, thinned, k=8, radius=None); from the registry, ops3d.get("pc_thinning_report"))

Usage

What a point-cloud thinning removed, and whether it touched the rare points (`table`).

`removed count and fraction; removed_spacing` percentiles of the

local spacing (:func:pc_density) of the removed points versus

`kept_spacing; isolated_removed` counts removed points whose

nearest-neighbour distance exceeded *radius* (default: the 95th percentile

of nearest-neighbour distances) — a thinning that removed such points has

discarded exactly the rare, isolated observations a survey exists to find

(:func:pc_poisson_disk with the same radius removes none of them, by

construction); `max_gap` is the largest distance from any removed point

to the kept cloud (the biggest hole the thinning made).
