# agents-md-gen (Python wrapper)

Generate a solid `AGENTS.md` (or `CLAUDE.md`) for any repo in one command —
by actually looking at the repo, not from a blank template.

```
pip install agents-md-gen
agents-md-gen
```

This is a thin Python wrapper: the actual tool is written in Node.js and
published on npm as [`agents-md-gen`](https://www.npmjs.com/package/agents-md-gen).
This package exists so it's discoverable via `pip`/`pipx` for Python
developers. **It requires Node.js to be installed** (it runs the real tool
via `npx` under the hood).

If you already have Node.js, you can skip this wrapper entirely and just run:

```
npx agents-md-gen
```

See the [main project README](https://github.com/Peshino2012/PD1/tree/main/agents-md-gen)
for what it detects, usage, and options (`--dry-run`, `--force`,
`--check`, `--also-claude-md`).

## Why a wrapper instead of a native rewrite?

Keeping one implementation (Node.js) avoids maintaining two copies of the
stack-detection logic that would drift out of sync. The wrapper's job is
just discoverability for people who search PyPI instead of npm.
